After French government accepted Ouattara’s ambassador in Paris and denied access to the embassy to Gbagbo’s ambassador, Ivorian authorities decided to invalidates visas delivered by the Côte d’Ivoire embassy in Paris.
On Friday, the French who arrived at Abidjan airport with a “Coulibaly visa” – the name of the new Ivorian ambassador in France supported by Ouattara and recognized by Paris – were turned away at the airport by police who were waiting. This confirms that Coulibaly visas will not be accepted by customs officials loyal to Gbagbo and that the French can no longer travel to Côte d’Ivoire, except those with a visa from the administration of outgoing President Gbagbo. For the first time today, Ally Coulibaly was able to enter -with heavy police escort- in the embassy located at Avenue Raymond Poincaré in the 16th arrondissement of Paris.
